Show 1 Judge Ferdiand Ericksen of Salt Lake (is a Mt. Pleasant business visitor this week. t The Twentieth Century Club met ' Thursday afternoon with Mrs. M.A. , Winters. As an opening number j :the club sang "Utah We Love Thee.' j after which Robert H. Hinckley eave an excellent talk on "Utah and her Resourses." Mrs. Lewis A.' Petersen read a paper on "The Rural School Teacher," and Miss Afton Argylei sang 'two solos. Several lEdlson selections were enjoyed .ur- ing luncheon. Earl Pardoe of the B.Y.U. of', j Provo, and Mrs. Pardoe's interpretation interpre-tation of the play was especially ap-j ipealing and won much applause. I This was the last number of the Lyceum course. Mrs. William Olsen is visiting in Salt Lake with Dr. and Mrs. G. O. ' Bradley and Mr. and Mrs. Berkley ! Olsen. , J E.P. Johnson of this city while"re- turning from his garage in Moroni , Wednesday night, broke the steering j gear in the ford car he was driving, j The car turned turtle pining Mr.' Johnson underneath where he was found by passers-by. He was severely sever-ely bruised and cut but not otherwise injured. The Campfire Girls and their guardian, Miss Jean Mahood, met last evening at the home of the Misses Miss-es Ruth and Helen Keusseff. After, the regular session a musical pro-j gram was enjoyed and an elaborate luncheon served. The Mt. Pleasant , chapter of the Service Star Legion entertained at a party Thursday evening at the J-C. Jordan home. A letter of greetings from Mrs. J.W. Cherry of Salt Lake, first president of the chapter was read and a varied program of readings, read-ings, instrumental and vocal selt;'.-ions selt;'.-ions was presented by Mrs. O.F. Wall, Miss Grace Mae Sample, Miss Christ: i Clark, the Wasatch stringed sextett, and the Wasatch male quartett, after which 1'ght refreshments were served. ser-ved. The next .meeting of the Service Star Legion will be Wednesday Wednes-day evening, May 2 at eight o'clock . in the North ward chapel.
