Show SG0U1S Oil ASK FOR ASSISTANCE FOR THE CilNG YEAR la 1925 a drive for funds to save the Scout organization in this district was very successfully put over. Men of the community from every walk in life rallied to the cause, and scouting wa9 insured for another year. At the expiration of that year, a change was made in the organization, by umitinig the three districts of Sanpete San-pete Co. into one. In which a part time executive was employed, in the 'belief that more .benefit and service could be 'had than under the previous plan and at a'bouit one-half the cos. A few public spirited -men over the county at the beginning of the fisoal year in July, in order that Scout work might go on again, came to the rescue and guaranteed that the annual "budget "bud-get would be furnished. Accordingly a drive fo;r funds is again necessary, first to make up our due to the national nat-ional and Reginal organization for membership, and second to pay our pro-rata of the executive, William G. Barton of the Snow College, and third to supply the local troops with f.-i-h funds as are necessary for equipment, an item which has never been given consideration in the bud get before. Believing that scouting isone of the greatest factors in the world for making of good citizens as well hj one of the greatest helpers to the home and the school in keeping the boys' "Mentally Awake, and Morally Straight." The Scouts organization hereby make a public appeal to all citizens of the community as well as business interests for help in their drive to raise the neceisary funds to keep Scouting going. It is believed that we are in a position po-sition and condition now to do more and better work than lias ever been done, and that scouting is on a (better footing here now than ever 'before, and that this condition may be improved im-proved and the future local scouting guaranteed we ask the generous public pu-blic to 'help in an easy matter if all w)H assist. Appreciative of past favors fa-vors and grateful for new ones. We are respectfully, The District Com-.mtttee, Com-.mtttee, by.C. W. So-rensen, District Chairman, John Gunderson, chairman chair-man of finance committee. |
