Show SNOW'S JOKE "I'm going to play a joke tonight," said King Snow. The snowflake children and grand- children loved King Snow's jokes. "May we play with you?" they J asked. I "By all means," said Kjng Snow. I That made them very happy, j They followed King Snow along and he told them his plans. Oh, thoy worked out very nicely. They went to a beautifully wide-open wide-open window where Melly s-lept. Molly loved to sleep with her window win-dow wide open summer and winter. Molly enjoyed air so much. If she didn't have lots of air, slit didn't feel well. Tlic-y hopped so softly upon her window sill and right into her room they went. They didn't make any noise at all. They played over her hediooin slippers slip-pers that were right in front of her bed. They sat upon the chair which was right alongside her bed. They settled themselves for games ail over the floor. They played so quietly, but they had such -fun. They enjoyed It more than they had enjoyed the last trick they had played when they helped Grandfather They Followed King Snow. Blizzard, and had ciiJe huge drifts where the people had to walk so that they went up to their knees most of the time. This was still greater fun. They covered everything, everything every-thing that was within any distance of the window at all. And they even hopped upon the comfortable that was over Melly. When Melly awoke in the morning she was covered with snow, but she thought it a great joke, ' too even though it took some time to brush up after the snow's joke. Only it was fun to see how the snow had just made itself at home right in her room. |
