Show FAIRVIEW. NEWS FROM MAY 21. Jack Stewart went to Salt Lake City this week to visit his mother, Mrs. J. L. Stewart at the hospital. Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Palmer, of Provo . visited relatives in Fairview this week. Mrs. Caroline Miner is visiting relatives re-latives at Mapleton and Springville. The stork called at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Olsen this week and left them a baby boy. A baby boy was welcomed at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Nielson last week. Mrs. Bert Christensen 'and Mrs. Bernard Christensen came over from Schofield this week to visit relatives. Harold Cheney, who works in the Utah National Bank in Salt Lake City, is home for a vacation. Glen C. Bills .son of Samuel Bills Jr. arrived in the U. S. the first week in May and is expected home soon, he has been in France since last fall. On Tuesday a wedding reception was given at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Christenson in honor of their daughter, Maude's marriage to Clifton Graham. A sumptuous dinner din-ner was served to about forty guests. . The afternoon and evening was spent in music, games and social chat. A number of handsome and useful presents were given. Refreshments Re-freshments were also served in the evening. Those from out of town who attended the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Christensen Jr., Bishop and Mrs. Bradley of Moroni. Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Christensen and Mrs. Frank Candland of Mt Pleasant, and Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Palmer of Provo. H. W. Sanderson Jr. of Salt Lake City spent a few days with his parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Sanderson Sr. The ladies literary club met at the home of Mrs. Ellis Coombs May 2 0. An interesting meeting was held. During the social hour the guests were entertained with music on the Silvertone. Dainty refreshments were served. On Monday evening Miss Sains-bury Sains-bury of the Aricultural College gave a lecture "The proper Care of Children Child-ren and special prevention of Illness during the summer months." which was much enjoyed by all present. Mrs. Leo Peacock of Sterling is a guest at the home of her sister, Mrs. Charles Peacock. A fine baby boy was welcomed by Mr. and Mrs. Leo Peacock May 20th. Mrs. Ingeborg Stanborg died at her home in Fairview, Monday May 19.. She had been ill for several years. She was a native of Sweden and has lived in Fairview over thirty years. She w'as seventy-six years old and has been a widow several years. Funeral services were held in the ward chapel Thursday. Swen O. Neilson and Peter Sunwall Sr. were speakers who spoke well of her vlife and labors. Bishop H. P. Hansen and Miss Mae Madsen sang "Jesus Lover of My soul." She had many friends but veryrfew relatives in this country. She was never blessed with children but raised an adopted daughter. Her grandson. Ivall Davison has lived with her and worked work-ed for her and took care of her since her husbands death. Those who came from out of town to attend the funeral were Mrs. Belle Larson and daughters of Spring City. Mrs. Asa Wilcox and Mrs. Lucinda Hicks of Magna. News for May 29, 1919. A fine baby boy was welcomed at the home of Thomas Rigby May 2S. Ned Hansen, the small son of Bp. H. P. Hansen, fell from a horse last Saturday and broke his arm at the elbow. Adriel Vance, ten year old son of Moroni Vance, was taekn to Salt Lake Monday, where he was operated oper-ated upon for a pus case of appendicitis. appendi-citis. Dr. Rigby and his parents went with him. He is reported to be doing nicely. Mr. and Mrs. Robinson of Salt Lake City were guests at the home of Chas. Fowies the past two weeks. Mrs. Robinson has recently recovered recover-ed from an operation for appendicitis. appendici-tis. She was formerly Miss Lizzie Fowels of this city. .Mrs. N. P. Christensen and (laughter, (laugh-ter, Adrea. and son, Edgar, came from Idaho and spent the week with friends and relatives. Mrs. Ellis Coombs and children are spending the week at Springville with relatives. She will also visit at Provo and Salt Lake ,City before returning re-turning home. Miss Nola Day went to Wyoming Wednesday where she will visit her sister, Mrs. J. C. Anderson.. Miss Odessa Turpin is spending the month visiting her brother, Mr. Welby Turpin at Wheelon. Another soldier boy who was discharged dis-charged with honor is Glen C. Bills, who returned home last Saturday. He belonged to the sixth balloon Company and spent the past year in France. He has had many interest ing experiences but says he is glad to be home again. He also demobilized at Fort Russel Wyoming. Mr. and Mrs Fred Rigby came over from "Schofield and visited relatives re-latives Saturday and Sunday. I-Iilden Peterson is a Salt Lake visitor this week. Miss Tressa Linquist has returned form Salt Lake City. On Friday evening May 23th. a party was given at the home of Wm. Cheney in honor of his son Harold's .wenty-first birthday. Music, games and singing were indulged in.- An excellent supper was served to about twenty-five guests. Harold returned to Salt Lake City on Tuesday. On Saturday May 24th Miss Adra Christensen and Francello Stew-art were married at Manti. They are among our popular young people. Mr. Stewart is a rteurned soldier having been in France with the 14 5 th refgiment in Uncle Sams service. They are receiving congratulations from their many friends. On Wednesday May 28 Miss Minerva Min-erva Fowies and Mr. Landsen Stewart Stew-art went to Manti and were married. They are also among our popula young folks. They will make their home at Fairview. A bundle shower was given Tuesday Tues-day evening at the home of Miss Ethel Allred in honor of Miss Minerva Min-erva Fowies an ' " 'ss Adrea Christenson, Christen-son, two may bridse. The party was given by a number of their girl friends. About twenty couples were present. A number of handsome and useful presents were given. A dainty luncheon was served. Monday evening a chicken supper was given at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Laveru Jensen. The evening spent in games and social chat. Supper Sup-per was served to Mr. and Mrs. Eli A. Day Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Newel Cox, Mr. and Mrs. Lavern Jensen, Miss Annabell Pritchett, Miss Verda Cheny, Floyd Young and Arthur Peterson. Pet-erson. Professor Sanborn of the Aricul-tmral Aricul-tmral Colege gave two demonstrations demonstra-tions on Culling chickens for winter layers. The meetings held Wednesday Wednes-day were under the direction of the local farms bureau and were held at the residences of Hans Madsen and Mart Peterson. Prof. Sanborn also gave some good instructions upon feeding and breeding chickens. |
