Show ACCEPTS ARMENIAN TASK President Wilson to Act As Arbitrator In Boundary Dispute. Washington. President Wilson has accepted the invitation of the San Remo conference that he fix the boundaries boun-daries of Armenia, it is officially announced an-nounced by the state department. The invitation of the allies made -it clear to the president that their suggestion sug-gestion was entirely irrespective of uuy uuiy unner tne league of nations, and it is claimed in official circles that his acceptance is not open to any valid objection. It is not the understanding here, however, that the president is acting as "umpire" or "arbitrator." These are terms that imply that the parties in interest have appealed to him to act for them and that the decision should be final. The president, it is stated, is simply to give the allies his Ideas fti fixed form as to what the boundaries of Armenia should be, and it will be for them to accept, reject or modify them. The president is known to have made a special study of the Armenian question. |
