Show NOTICE TO CITY WATER USERS i At a special session of the City Council held July 16, 1919. the following follow-ing letter was submitted to the coun- -cil by mayor Candland and the superintendent super-intendent of waterworks was given: the following orders: 1st. To shut off all taps wherever a leakage is found. 2nd. Arrest all patrons, who usai water from the system for irrigation purposes. 3rd. Instruct the Watermaster to carry a key so as to shut off all taps wherever he sees any waste. Tuesday night one half of the water in the reservior. with the Cil y Spring running in, was used or wasted wast-ed so that one or two days clear water is all that we will have. Thereafter There-after we will have to use muddy water for 'drinking purposes. This is due to wasteful methods and the leaky system. Water users are requested re-quested to be as careful in the use of water as possilbe. Letter follows. Mt. Pleasant, Utah July 14, 1919. . To the honorable Mayor and City Council Gentlemen: The shareholders of the Pleasant Creek Irrigation Co. haved complained complain-ed a number of times to the Hoard of Directors of the unlawful use of (he water owned by said Company. The Board of Directors with the Water-master Water-master Invostagated this matter, and by measurement of the water at the City water tank, we find that the City is using 38 hunderths second foot of water. Accoring to measurement of the water in the creek the Cily share is about Eight Hundredth second Joot. The City is now .using about 30 hundredth second foot more than they are intitled to. There is a creat shortage of water all over the State and our crops are suffering, our grain and hay is drving up for want of water and the lost "will be considerable. We believe the use. of water in the City, can and should he curtailed, we ask you Mr. Mayor to issue a proclamation to the people of Mt. Pleasant asking (hem to be more conservative in the use of watrr setim? forth the seriousness of the naste. and acain we ask you to see that the law reeiiarding the misuse of the water be enforced.
