Show FAIRVIEW. The reunion of the decendants of Henry W. Sanderson was held at the home of Sylvanua Howell July 2. Tables spread with the bounties of life were placed under the trees. An excellent dinner was served to two hundred and forty. S. S. Sanderson acted as toastmaster. Chauncy Howell gave a speech of welcome. Bishop O. M. Sanderson of Ogden gave a speech on the life and labors of his father. Several other toasts speeches, songs, and njusic made up an interesting program. The celebration cele-bration closed with a dance in the Paviion in the evening to which the public were invited. Those who came to attend the reunion were Bishop and Mrs. Owen Sanderson, Mr. and Mrs. James Hurst and Mrs. Rebecca A. Hurst of Ogden. David Sanderson and son and Mr. and Mrs. Moroni Rigby and family of Hinckley. Mr. and Mrs. Heny W. Sanderson, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Peterson of American Fork, Mr. and Mrs. Anion Leroy and family of Mapleton. Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Johnson of Richfield, Rich-field, Mrs. Floyd Belle and Children ;of Glenwood, Mrs. Arvilla Jacobsen of Fountain Green, Mrs. Sarah Jane Sanderson, wife of Henry W. Sanderson Sander-son was able to be present and enjoy the celebration. Though she is over seventy years old she is in fairly (good health. The fourth of July was celebrated at Fairview an excellent program .was given in the L. D. S. Chapel at 10:30. A. L. Carlston acted as Master of Ceremonies. The congregation congre-gation sang America. Prayer by Chaplain Archie R. Anderson, Overture Over-ture by Terry's Concert Band. Oration Ora-tion by Adolph W. Jensen of Ephraim Piano selection by Miss Ethel Lind-quist. Lind-quist. Speech by the Goddess of (Liberty represented by Gwendolin Anderson. Her attendants were a .soldier, J. Christenson, a sailor, Gene JChristenson and a red cross nurse. Dorthy Rasmussen. A vocal solo was given by Lee Barker. A read-' ing by Miss Laurel Miner. A bari- tone solo by Ernest Terry with the I Band Accompaniments. A violin solo was given by Miss Lillie Barker of Salt Lake. Prayer by Chaplain. ! A free dance was given at the pavil-! ion in the afternoon for the children ! .followed by races and games. A ; :ball game was played at the city; j'park between the Fairview and :'Moroni teams which came out 4 to 5 !in favor of Moroni. In the evening a grand ball concluded con-cluded the clays pleasure. ! Peler Sundwall was a Salt Lake visitor this week. j Miss Christa Lassen went to Salt ILake City to spend the Fourth of July with friends and relatives. Lewis Rigby came home from Ida. to spend the fourth. Lewis Larsen of Tremonlon spent the week with relatives. Alton Mower and Morgan Anderson, Ander-son, who have been working in Idaho came to Fairview to spent the holidays, holi-days, j Miss Alta Olsen who has been attending at-tending summer school at the B. Y. U. returned home Sunday. Henry Terry and H. S. Olsen are in Salt Lake City this week attending attend-ing the N. E. A. Mr. Roberts of Rexburg. Idaho is a iguest at the home of Burns Cox. iThey were formerly missionarw Companions. Com-panions. Mrs. Ennice Lynn of Mohave, Arizona was a guest at the home of 'Peter Peterson the past week. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Crayner of Cor-rinne Cor-rinne visited relatives here the past week. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Barker and family spent the Fourth of July at Fairview. |
