Show Good Attendance Marks Quarterly Conference Here Cue of the most successful Conferences Confer-ences held in the North Sanpet Stake convened at Mount Pleasant last Saturday Sat-urday and Sunday, June 16 and 17. More people attended this gathering than a;;y previous quarterly conference confer-ence on record. President Heber J. Grant, Elder Rudger Clawson and Mrs. Crisman, a member of the General Board of the F.el.ef Society of the church were here from Salt Lake to speak to the people. The regular Priesthood meeting was held Saturday morning with a l;nbe attendance. Lei Cioss work was one of the principal subjects treated by the vis. iting speakers. Sunday moring the visiting speakers used most of the time in speaking of Relief Society work. In the afternoon President Grant spoke of Red Cross work and our duty to contribute freely. Elde.-Clawso.i Elde.-Clawso.i spoke of war and fullfilinent of prophecies. President Grant sang "A i'lai' Without a Stain." President Merz and his councillors, James W. Ani!ei.;on and Daniel Rasmussen we;e also speakers during the conference con-ference sessions. The choirs from the Mount Pleasant Pleas-ant south ward, the Spring City ward and the Moroni ward furnished music mu-sic for the defferent sessions. Every ward in the stake was well represented. In the evening President Grant and President Merz went to Moroni and spoke on Red Cross work at that place. Pres. Grant sang three songs at the Moroni meeth.g. Elder Clawson and President James W. Anderson visited the Fountain Green ward that evening. The subject treated by Elder Clawson was the three important events in a man's life, that being n:s blrtn, his second birth and matrimony. Weather conditions were' ideal and the conference as a whole was a very successful gathering. |
