Mr. ( lark was a missionary compan-! ion of Lewis Mower. j Miss Leah Saunders who has been ; in Ogden for some time returned home this week. Mrs. Allie Carlston left Monday for Chicago where she goes to meet i.er husband who is doing missionary) work in Illinois. He has been released re-leased and they will go on a trip to Now York and visit several places on the Atlantic Coast. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Harker and family of Alberta, Canada who spent the past winter here, returned to their home last week. Rheuben Christenson, who attended attend-ed the Agricultural College at Logan Lo-gan the past winter returned home tit is week. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Moore and family moved to Garfield this week where Mr. Moore has employment. On Monday March 15th. Mrs. Amasa Cox entertained in honor of her mother, Mrs. Caroline Hansen's seventy-eighth birthday. An excellent excel-lent dinner was served and a pleasant pleas-ant afternoon and evening spent In social conversation. Dainty refreshments refresh-ments were served in the evening. Twenty-five guests, were present. The celebration given by the relief re-lief society March 17th. wa3 a great success meeting was held in the L. D. S. Chapel. President Caroline Cox presided. Choir sang. Prayer by Jordan Brady Sr. Choir sang an Anthem. Minutes and reports were read by Mrs. Peter Nielson. Selection by Terry's concert band. Short talk on cheerfulness by Mrs. A. U. Miner. Min-er. Vocal Solo by Mrs. Goldie Mc-I1T. Mc-I1T. Speech by Bishop H. P. Hansen, "True Service in Religion." Choir sang an Anthem. Vocal duet by Sarah Peterson, and Ardath Larsen. Selection by Terrys Band. Mrs. E. H. Anderson was released with a vote of thanks as secretary and lone 'Sanders was sustained to fill the position. Song by the Glee Club. Benediction by Mrs. Frank Tucker. In the afternoon all met at the Pavilion Pa-vilion where lunches were served to about three hundred. A. U. Miner was master of ceremonies. After singing and Prayer the band gave a selection. A comic reading was given by Mrs. Milton Burns Sr. A quartette by Marion Tucker and Co. A short moral reading was given by Mrs. Carl Sun'dwall. Song by the Glee Club. A short poem by Mrs. A. U. Miner. Music by Terrys Concert Band. A comic reading by 1 Mrs. Thelma Mower. Also music by a famous Jass baud. A ladies harmonica har-monica band in old fashioned cos- j tumes. Other unique and pleasant ! games were played. The cracker eating contest etc. Six men were 'put up as targets for the ladies to throw (fj-gs at. And though about ten dozen were thrown only one man came out with a black eye. In the evening a dance was given for all married people and the tickets were purchased by ladies who also did the choosing. Everything went off 'smoothly and all seemed to have a good time. Great credit is due the committee in charge as there was not one failure in the days program. Harmon Fowels, fifteen years old, son of Charles Fowels, died at the family home, of Dipheria, March 18th. He had been ill the past six days. His ailment started a large kernel or gathering upon his neck out after being lanced it developed finto diphteria. Funeral services will be held in the open air at the residence resi-dence Saturday. None of the family have taken the malady and some doubt It being diphtheria. iLorenzo Larsert came frcrm the hospital Wednesday. He is getting along very well. Mrs. Lewis Larsen, his mother also returned home from 'Salt Lake City. The Commercial Club has lately elected new officers. John W. Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Christenson, Christen-son, who spent the past month in Fairview, returned to Clear Creek this week. A baby girl was welcomed at tne home of Charles .WAa last wek. The Snow Normal College dramatic dramat-ic club presented a drama "Mixup" at the Fairview opera house Friday tsvoi'irg. It u very welt received l.y a large audience.
