Show rm BARRY WINS BACK SCULLING TITLE j Ernest Barry, the challenger, scored a clean-cut victory on the Parramalvi river in his contest with Alfred Felton of New South Wales for the world's sculling championship. Barry regained his title by his skill and staying power, and Australian sportsmen attached little or no importance to the fact that hl9 shell touched that of Felton early In the race. Felton said that he had bee dissatisfied with the decision of the umpire as he considered he had won on a foul. Barry announces that he will now retire from the championship, as h has fulfilled his purpose of regaining the title from Felton. He is willing to allow younger men to succeed him. |
