Show NEIGHBORHOOD NEWS. Mr. and Mrs. Christian Johansen entertained at an elaborate dinner Friday afternoon in honor of the latter's birthday anniversary. The dining table held a crystal basket of yellow aud white chrysanthemums, as the center piece ana covers were placed for fifteen quests. j John L. Larsen is visiting with his, daughter. Mrs. Roy Hansen at Jlam-moth Jlam-moth this week. ' j Mrs. Ellen Wilson went to r.Iid-vale r.Iid-vale Friday with her brother, Wm. Thompson. She will remain there indefinitely with her daughter Mrs. A. H. Maiben. Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Sorenson entertained en-tertained at a splendid dinner, Sunday Sun-day evening. Red and white chrysanthemums chrys-anthemums were the flowers which graced the dining, table and covers were placed for Mr. and Mrs. T. W. Dyches, Miss Annie Johansen, Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Poulsen, Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Poulsen, Mrs. Seymour Jensen, Bent R. Hansen, Miss Ber-nita Ber-nita Hansen, Miss Faughn Poulsen, Ronald Dyches, Clayton Sorenson, and the host and hostess. Mrs. P. W. Swensen and Mrs. Lawrence Carlsen and children spent the week end at Spring City they were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Maybert Strate. The South Ward Relief Society enjoyed a pleasant afternoon at a luilting at their hall, Tuesday. A large numfber was present and a pleasing featture of the afternoon was a Health Lecture by Dr. Shipp of Salt Lake City. Dr Shipp gave an interesting Health talk to sixty young ladies of, the Junior and Senior classes of the South ward Y. L. M I. A. Tuesday f venings. An excellent Red Cross Preliminary Prelimin-ary Program will be rendered at the South ward mutual, Tuesday evening November 18 promptly at 7:30. The Dancing. Party given Dy tne American Legion Tuesday evening was very successful. The prize waltz was the feature of the evening even-ing and was won by Lloyd Barton and Miss Fanny Monsen getting 1st prize and Ephraim Hansen and Mrs. H. C. Merz getting 2nd prize. A pound box of chocolates was the first prize and a half pound box was the second. Mrs. W. D. Candland, president of the North Ward Relief Socitey was given a very pleasant surprise, at the Relief Society Hall, Tuesday afternoon. after-noon. Mrs. Candland leaves shortly "or Salt Lake City for the winter. A large crowd was in attendance. A program was enjoyed and also a talk 'by Dr. Shi.pp and refreshments were served by members of the Society. So-ciety. Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Madsen entertained en-tertained at dinner Saturday evening even-ing for Byron Hampshire. Covers were place for ten. |
