Show Annual Celebration For The Pioneer Association Arrangements are being complet- lad for the 9th annual celebration of the Mt. Pleasant Pioneer association which will be held next Wednesday, March 20, 1918. It is promised by Jnembers of the committee that this uvent will surpass any previous cele-oration. cele-oration. At a recent meeting of the Board pf Directors, it was unanimously agreed that hereafter, in order that none might feel slighted, all pioneers or descendants of pioneers, who arc members of the association, who shall have reached the age of 7 0 years will be honored guests at all the Uocial functions of the organization. Nearly ninety special invitations have been issued which aim to include in-clude all of the above class, also widows of pioneers of that age. The jommittee earnestly trust that none have been omitted, and in case there jxre some, it is sincerely hoped they will be present, and it is assured they will be very welcome. j Plans for the day are to have the pioneers serenaded by the band at noon. A program at the North Ward chapel at 2 p. m., to which the conveyance con-veyance committee will assist with automobiles all the honored guests who wish to attend. The pioneers will be received and escorted to the seats reserved for them. The program pro-gram will be as follows: j , Master of Ceremonies, Pres. James (Larsen. ' Song, "Our Mountain Home So jOear," by the congregation, lead by Miss Tina Ericksen. Invocation, Peter Mogensen. Male quartet, Wilford Hafen, Emil Hafen, Ernest Halverson and Willard Barton. I Talk pertaining to Membership, (James Monsen. Piano solo, Miss Vera Hasler. Address, by special speaker. Ladies' quartet, Elmira Barton, Ruth Monsen, Winona Cherry and Ruby Larsen. . Reading, Winona Cherry. I Closing remarks, President Larsen. Lar-sen. Singing, "All is Well," congregation. congrega-tion. Benediction, C. .W. Andersen. In the evening a dance, with a good old-time ring to it, will be held at the Opera House, which has been beautifully and appropriately 'decorated for the occasion. . 'place In the Library for the safe peeping of relics and pioneer phonographs, pho-nographs, kindly report to the committee com-mittee having it in charge, and the relic you may wiHh placed there. The proceeds of this party will be Msed in this direction, and we feel It is a worthy cause which should be Supported.
