Show FIGHTING FOR THE WEST. Every western state is vitally interested in-terested in the fight being put up by the San Francisco Chamber of Corn-mere Corn-mere to remove the shackles from export and import trade on the Pacific Pa-cific coast. The delegation headed by Frederick Freder-ick J. Kotser is showing the government govern-ment how New York is given unfair advantages in the foreign trade over Pacific coast ports from Seattle to San Diego, that must be removed. Railroad rates are so unfair as to congest New York and Atlantic coast ports and put sucli a premium on cargoes that Pacific coast shipping shipp-ing suffers. Railroad rates on foreign trade, with downhill hauls to western ports, mean retaining of millions to western west-ern producers and manufactures. |
