Show FAIRVIEW Born, to the wife of S. A. Carter, a fine boy, Tuesday, July 8th. Harold and Madeline Mower went to Salt Lake for Pioneer Day. Miss vera Peterson and Miss Minerva Mi-nerva Fowles went to Garfield last week. Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Johnson and family and Mr. and Mrs. Earnest Poulsen of Salt Lake City spent the 24th at Fairview. Mrs. Francis Mower was called to Union Tuesday on account of the serious ser-ious illness of her mother. Richard Mills had his arm broken last week. He was riding a horse which fell with him. Born, to the wife of Eric Ericksen, on July 22nd, a baby girl. The little one lived only a short while. Wilson showed greater skill and action but Anderson had him outdone in strength and endurance. Everyone who participated in our celebration of Pioneer Day enjoyed it. Several said it was the best time ever. Mr. and Mrs. John R. Graham were Salt Lake visitors this week. Mrs. Elsberry Garlic of Ogden visited vis-ited friends and relatives here last week. Stanley Brady, son of L. P. Brady, was operated upon at the Winters Hospital July 25. He is reported to be getting along nicely. Mrs. Osborne Carlston and children of Murray are visiting relatives here. Mrs. Charles Dreyer and children of Idaho are visiting Mrs. Dreyers parents, Mr. and Mrs. N. S. Nielson. Miss May Brown of Centerville is the guest of Mrs. George Mower, Jr. Mrs. Francis Christofferson of Idaho Ida-ho is visiting her pasents Mr. and -Mrs. L. A. Brady and other reluti- ea here. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Anderson, Mrs. C.A Terry and children, Mrs. Wm. Cheney, Miss Verda Cheney, Miss Eva Terry, Ira Terry, John Knight and Harold Cheney, all of P'rovo were here to Bpend the 24th. Quite a number of our young people peo-ple and some older ones are over the Mountain for an excursion trip. Miss Amy Lyman gave an able talk to the Home Economies Association Tuesday on the "Canning of vegetables vegeta-bles and fruits." The Misses Cleo Olson, Nell Wat-kins, Wat-kins, Bell and Nellie Iloggan have returned to their homes in Manti, after af-ter having spent a delightful week in the Mountains, at the Huntington Coal MineB, as the guests of Helena Christensen. The Relief Society met at the L. D. S. Chapel last Monday and had an old fashioned quilting party. Five quilts were made which, will be given to the poor the coming winter. About sixty ladies were present and an enjoyable en-joyable time was had. Dinner and luncheon were served. An excellent wrestling match was witnessed by the people of Fairview July 2 3rd at the Opera Hou6e. The contestants were Andrew Anderson of Fairview and Wilson, Montana's Champion middle-weight wrestler. Wilson secured the first fall in twenty three minutes. Anderson secured the second and third falls in eighteen and twenty five minutes, respectively. |
