Show r ztt Tl j Fairviaw j Mrs. Amy Garlic Mower one of Fairview's early pioneers died at her home Nov. I3th. She was born in Ohio June 5, 1832, being over eighty years old at her death. She crossed the plains with her parents, when eighteen years old, walking the entire. distance. Her father James N. Jones was the first Bishop of Fairview (at that time called North Bend,) She endured all the hardships hard-ships of the early pioneers, Indian troubles, etc. She leaves a numerous ' posterity, eight children all of whom are living. Also sixty grand and fifty three great grand children. The funeral was held Nov. I5th, John L. Bench, H. P. Hansen, Samuel Bibs and Bishop James C. Peterson were the speakers, all paid tributes of respect to her memory. On Saturday Nov. IRth Mr. and Mrs. N. B. Pritchett celebrated their Silver wedding. An excellent dinner was served, after which the afternoon after-noon and evening was pleasantly spent in music, games and social chat. About seventy-five people weie present. A number of handsome presents were given. Mr. and Mrs. Pritchett have a family of ten children chil-dren all of whom were present. The Primary Assocation is preparing pre-paring a cantata which will be presented pre-sented Thursday evening. Some drills will also be given. Mr; and Mrs. Wm. Terry went to Payson Sunday having been called there by the death of Mrs. Terry's mother. Mr.'and Mrs. John Thompson and daughter of Montana visited relatives rela-tives here last week. Mr. John R. Graham is a Murray visitor this week. Mrs. Sarah Ann Householder of American Fork came to attend her mother's funeral last week. Lional Peterson returned from P. V. Junction Saturday where he has been employed the past three months. Mrs. Lawrence Epperson of Provo is visiting with parents and friends. The Ladies Literary Club met at the home of Mrs. Dr. Earle- Nov. I4th After an hour spent in needle work an interesting meeting was held. The lesson was given by Mrs. Chas. Peacock. Dainty refreshments were served. The sixteen months old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Larsen died Wednesday morning. The little one had whooping cough which was followed fol-lowed by pne imonia. The parents have the symp.unv of the community communi-ty in their tjereavtment. |
