Though Senator Bacon had been seriously ill with kidney trouble and complications developing from a broken brok-en rib, his death was unexpected. Senator Bacon was born in Bryan county, Georgia, October 20, 1S39. and for many years made his home in Macon. On being graduated from the University of Georgia law department in 1S00. he entered the Confederate army and served during the campaigns cam-paigns of 1SG1 and 1S62 as adjutant of the Ninth Georgia regiment in the army of northern Yirginia. |
