Show N. S. H. BEARDS ! LION IN HIS DEN i The North Sanpete High School football team made a trip to I'tah county and bearded the lion in his den, so to speak, beating a combined l'rovo High and Proctor Academy team 20-6 and the next day playing Spanish Fork to a 12 - 12 tie. i A large and enthusiastic crowd witnessed the game. The Provo students stu-dents and citizens supporting their team and the Sanpete students attending at-tending the fi. Y. U. supporting the Sanpeters. What, the latter contingent contin-gent lacked in numbers they made up in spirit. N. S. H. went into the game with a vim and scored within the first few minutes of play and from then on Provo was at their mercy. After the game the boys attended at-tended an athletic carnival at the B. Y. U. and in the evening were tendered ten-dered a banqiuet and a royal good time by the Proctor Academy students. stu-dents. The word had gone out in Spanish Fork that Spanish would win in a walk-away, but notwithstanding the fact that they played a better game than they did when N. fi. II. beat them in Mount Pleasant the best they could do was tie the score. While Spanish Fork played better ball than in the previous contest, N. S. II. failed to get into the game with the usual "pep." Whether this wns due to the strenuous game of the day before or to the lavish entertainment of the Provo boys (and girls) it is hard to decide. On the whole the trip was an enjoyable en-joyable and profitable one and r.he desire was expressed that friendly relations between N. S. H. and the Utah county schools may continue to exist. |
