Show Helping The Poor Some time ago the Washing Class of the Fairview Public School, who are this year in the Seventh Grade work, organized what is called "The Helping Hand Club." The first work of the club was to gather a supply of useful articles to to be distributed among the poor of the Ward. Theer were about twelve places selected by the club to be visited. The call of the club president, presi-dent, Mr. Cecil Larson, who is also class president, was gladly accepted and a good supply of coal, wood, potatoes, wheat, flour, chickens butter, apples, vegetables, and bottled fruits was given in abundance. abund-ance. Money was also donated. All these good things were distributed distri-buted on Thanksgiving Day to the poor people in the Ward and many glad hearts were made by the efforts of the members of the club. The class feels well in their endeavor en-deavor to make some one happy. They find that something can be accomplished in school besides filling their own heads with knowledge. |
