Show ELK EAST OF MANTI Ed Jensen and Charlie Tennant saw two large elk up Manti Canyon last week with full horns and abom six inches of velvet between. The elk recently placed in Sal.na canyon are all still at Sallna bo it is quite possible these two came from the Nebo Reserve. This confirms our prediction of a couple of years age that the elk would find their way to the mountains between Sanpete and Sastle Valleys as that is where the elk made his last stand in this section of the counry. Hunters should be very careful not to kill elk however, as the penalty would be a heavy one. Manti Messenger Mes-senger July 31.
