Mount Pleasant, the Metropolis of Sanpete county, is located on the Denver & Rio Grande Railroad 100 , miles south of Salt Lake City, the state capital. It maintains a system of water works that supplies all the city with pure water and affords excellent fire protection. A new Electric Light plant, unequalled in small cities has just been set in operation. Antiquated sidewalks are passing avv;iy and pavements are rapidly being laid in the residental districts as well as in the business sections. The resident section is the pride of the commun-; commun-; ity, as the c.tizens are diligent in keeping their homes and lawns in admirable order. The business section has ' representatives of all lines of merchandise. The trade of a rich farming community is drawn from a distance ; of many miles, attracted by well kept stores and extensive exten-sive stocks. The financial affairs are strengthened by ' two strong banks that have the confidence of the public. Livestock raising is an important industry and Mount Pleasant is the home of the greatest registered animals in the West. Wool growing is also a valuable asset. THE PIONEER MONUMENT. |
