Show FOof BALL . Wa-auh Academy and Carbon County High School Foot Ball teams met at a game of foot, ball at the C ity Paik last Saturday afternoon as had been scheduled by the two teams. This b.-mg tf.e second game of the season between the two school Learns; Carbon having won a game over Wasatch at Price a short time, before. Carbon was iejresented by a strong team and appeared as though th?y would make an interesting game for. The local team realized that they were outclassed in weight, out depended upon their' training for a strung point in their favor. The game started shortly after 3. Wasatch set a swift pace right from tire start. They made a touchdown and Kliott kicked goal. Carbon depended de-pended mainly upon their strenght ' i n breaking through the line but were outwitted by the local team in making end plays. Wasatch scored another touchdown and made the goal Ki k maKing a score 14 to nothing noth-ing until the game wa- near an end when Croon carried the ball over the line. The referee gave Carbon credit with six points and a row began. be-gan. Carbon contended that they svere entitled to the score and Wasatch Was-atch disputed the claim. Spectators and private citizens and onlookers crossed the chalk line a'nd entered the quarrel shaking their fists in the face of the referee as though they themselves had been appointed to rcferte the game. The City Marshall Mar-shall and Capt. Thos. Braby advised the quarrelsame multiude to , calm their troubled feelings and let the game be finished. The players wanted to go on with the game and the spectators wer e eager to see it completed, but although the local team had the game in their own nands, the wasatch coach 1 not will-i will-i ig to share the laurels with the visiting visit-ing team, called his men off the field and left Carbon to do their bidding. The contention was at fever heat. Even the Buldogs took part in the fray and the disappointed spectators witnessed a spirited contest in the form of a dog fight as they deft the r'arK. |
