Show DOES MY RADIO LIE During the past fifty years the Supreme Being has bestowed upon up-on the inhabitants of this one little lit-tle spot in his universe more wisdom wis-dom than we have ever been blessed bles-sed with in a like period of time. The telephone arived and we installed in-stalled one in the home. The airship air-ship was perfected and we literally liter-ally soared to the clouds and we learned to change tires. The moving mov-ing picture was invented and a new profession "was found for those with beautiful faces ' and graceful forms. The radio appeared ap-peared and the world before you lies. ! ; .. ,"',' ,r 'H. 'I . At least, it seems to me that my particular radio frequently ; prevaricates. pre-varicates. It can tell me six times in one evening that the choicest gowns may be purchased at six different places in ,six different cities. "It tells me this and it tells me that until I don't know where I'm at," if I may be allowed allow-ed a sentence of Pennsylvania Dutch. Now it asks me to retain my slender figure by reaching for a cigarette instead of a piece of eandy or sugar or words to some such effect. I smoke and I'm fat. Several members of my family fam-ily do not smoke, eat plenty of sweets and they are skinny to an extreme. Too much smoking gives me heartburn and even a little gives me a foul breath. Iti takes a lot of sweet stuff to have either of these effects. What's the matter mat-ter with this radio of mine, anyway. any-way. .Am I to take everything it says seriously, or am I to suspect sus-pect that it is as prone to utter m untruth as is the average hu-nan. hu-nan. , In other words, does my radio occasionally lief When it 'does should I give it a spanking by turning the dial. Unless my radio I has something more than wprds j from an unseen announcer, inspired in-spired by an unseen adverttising ;uian, to bolster up its claims, I'm going to be dubious extremely 'dubious.
