Show ! MORONI ! I By Special Correspendonce Boyd Anderson of the U. S. Army returned home this week having received his honorable discharge and is being welcomed by his many friends and relatives rela-tives at Moroni. Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Irons visited in Salt Lake City this week with relatives there. Miss Delia Sorenson of Salt Lake City spent last week end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Andreas Sorenson and family. The Jr. Sorosis club members and husbands enjoyed a surprise party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Blackham, it being a "house warming" since moving into their new home on Main Street. The time was spent in playing games, etc., after which a most delicious luncheon was served. Mrs. Edna Bailey of Salt Lake City was a special guest. Raymond Anderson of Richfield, Rich-field, Utah spent last week end with relatives and friends at Moroni. Mo-roni. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Anderson returned home Tuesday from Santa Fe, New Mexico, where he has been employed for several months. Mrs. Ila Christensen entertained entertain-ed the Sew Art club last Wednesday Wednes-day evening, where the time was spent in sewing, after which a delicious luncheon was served to 12 members. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Bailey and family of Salt Lake City spent last week end with relatives and friends at Moroni. Clean-Up week in Moroni was a big success here for everyone was very cooperative and Moroni is looking very much improved, since many truck loads of rubbish rub-bish have been hauled away by the Boy Scouts and their leaders, under the dircetion of the Moroni Young Farmers Association, with Joseph Nevill, President. Additional Addi-tional future "Clean-up, Paint-up and Fix-Up" will be anounced later. Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Green of Fountain Green are the proud parents of a baby boy born on April 19th at the Dice hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Guymon and Mrs. John Guymon spent two days this week in Salt Lake City. They were accompanied by Mrs. Earl Bailey and children, who spent Easter at Moroni. Dr. and Mrs. Wilbur Dice are guests at the home of Mrs. N. E. ri He is a Lieutenant Colonel in the U. S. Army and is in the Medical Division of the Service. Miss Gladys Dice and Bert Dice of Salt Lake City, also spent the week end at Moroni. Caroline J. Christensen Died Sunday at Richfield Home Word was received by relatives here of the death Sunday at Richfield Rich-field of Mrs. Caroline Jensen Christensen, 68, wife of Soren C. Christensen, who have spent most of their married life in Moroni, Mo-roni, but who have been living recently in Richfield, Utah. She was born in Moroni, Aug. 14, 1877, a daughter of Jens and Kjesten Maria Hansen Jensen. She was married to Soren C. Christensen in the Manti L D S temple, Oct. 27, 1897. They have lived in Moroni up until three years ago, when they moved to Richfield. She was an active L D S church worker, as long as her health permitted. Surviving are her husband, the following sons and daughters, J. D. Christensen, Payson; Ertman Christensen, Pleasant Grove; Victor Christensen, Mrs. Louise Erickson, L. C. Christensen, Carl L. Christensen, all of Orem; Owen Christensen, Ogden; Mrs. Myrtle Housekeeper, South Cate, Calif.; Elmo Christensen, Richfield; Rich-field; grandchildren; the following fol-lowing brothers and sisters: Neils Peter Jensen, Preston, Ida.; Chris Jensen, Elko, Nev.; Andrew Jensen, Jen-sen, Moroni; Mrs. Mary Anderson, Ander-son, Levan; two half-sisters, Mrs. Anna Jackson, Moroni; Mrs. Ella Jensen, Murray; three half-brothers, Frank Junius and Lyman ' Jensen, Salt Lake City. Funeral services will be conducted con-ducted Thursday at 10 a. m., in the Richfield Second ward L D S chapel, by Wallace Sorenson, bishop. Additional services will be conducted at 3 p. m. n the Moroni Mo-roni West L D S ward chapel, by James Prestwich, bishop. Interment will be in the Moroni Mo-roni cemetery. |
