Show Complete Hiring Control Will Cover All Industry Complete hiring control in all essential war or civilian industry in a 16-county area in Utah was announced recently by John R. The plan in effect places all hiring of workers in occupations necessary to furtherance of the war effort or essential to civilian welfare, in the hands of the U-nited U-nited States Employment Service district offices, or other emplay-ment emplay-ment agancies which the War Manpower Commission may designate. des-ignate. It affects any critical worker or individual for work in a critical crit-ical occupation, as defined by the WMC, or any worker employed employ-ed in an essential activity, as designated by the WMC. The worker is considered to continue to be essential for 30 days after such time as he may cease to be employed in essential activity. Persons who are employed or whose most recent or usual employment em-ployment was in essential agricultural agri-cultural activities' are not to be hired in any other type of employment, em-ployment, except as approved and referred by the United States Employment Service, after determining de-termining that such persons are not needed in agricultural employment em-ployment at the present time and that such workers will be released to return to agricultural employment when needed. The plan provides chanels through which workers, dissatisfied dissatis-fied with present conditions, may change, or employers may make changes in their personnel. All changes wil be carefully considered con-sidered on their value to the war effort, Mr. Mayer said. |
