Voorhies, Fong and Kelly Intrigued by the recent enlistment en-listment in the Los Angeles area of Paul Anthony Kilroy, Sixth Army Recruiting headquarters checked through its files and came up with some other startling start-ling names indicative of racial descent from virtually every nation na-tion that the original Kilroy is reported to have visited. "It was opportunity that first attracted the citizens of other nations to America," declared Col. M. L. McCreary, chief of recruiting, re-cruiting, Sixth Army. These names indicate that their descendants des-cendants are still answering the same call. "Since the new regular Army instituted its manpower drive ; and offered 40,000 good jobs ev-jery ev-jery month, representatives of virtually every race, creed, and color have joined the service," i he said. He referred specifically to the recent announcement that enlisted men would again be accepted by the Army Air Forces for pilot training train-ing and a commission. "Of course the Army Recruiting Recruit-ing Service cannot guarantee this training to a prospective recruit," re-cruit," Col. McCreary emphasized. empha-sized. "However, the way is now open to apply and if the applicant's qualifications are good he will be accepted." |
