Show Utah Symphony Orchestra To Give Concert in Ephraim The Utah Symphony orchestra under the direction of Werner Janssen, will appear for matinee and evening concerts in five cities ci-ties in the southern part of Utah, it was announced today by Gus P. Backman, Centennial director. The first appearance will be at Ephraim on March 10. The following day the orchestra will be at Richfield, on the 12th at Cedar City, the 13th at St. George, and the 14th at Beaver. It was also announced that a concert will be played at Ogden on March 19. The inaugural concerts of the Centennial tour were held before be-fore an enthusiastic crowd at Heber City last week and these were followed by successful appearances ap-pearances at Logan and Vernal. National publicity has already been accorded the orchestra because be-cause of the unusual features of the tour. Lowell Thomas, noted commentator, devoted several minutes of his broadcast on January Jan-uary 29 to the tour. Never before be-fore has such a large and well known musical organization been enabled to appear in such small centers of population. The admission to the concerts will be at popular prices. All tickets for the evening concerts, for both adults and children, will be $1.20 including tax. This is just one-third of the $3.60 price charged for the same concert con-cert in the Salt Lake City Tabernacle. Taber-nacle. At the children's matinee mati-nee the admission will be 25c for children and $1.20 for adults. |
