Show D&EG Anticipating Large Volume of Eastern Visitors The Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad is anticipating the greatest volume of Eastern vacationers in its history this season, according to H. I. Sco-i.eid, Sco-i.eid, passenger traffic manager, upon his return from a survey tour of the road's agents in large eastern cities. Inquiries received particularly from important Eastern industrial indus-trial centers indicate that many factory employes are planning early vacations so as to be available avail-able as war demands speed up the tempo of defense production, Scofield said. Industrial workers work-ers who have cancelled their vacation va-cation due to increasing defense needs are arranging Western trips lor their families, nevertheless, he said. Scofield traced a high percentage percent-age of the increased inquiries about the Rockies to advertising placed in newspapers and to the sound and color movies of the Rio Grande's train and bus services which have been shown ,o more than 100,000 persons i the East already this year. Several special Rio Grande trains already have been engaged by members of Rotary International Interna-tional in connection with its Denver Den-ver convention to be held June 16th to 20th. |
