Honoring tho men who arc giving giv-ing the United States its strength in weapons, the American Design Awards, sponsored by Lord & Taylor. New York department store, paid tribute to John C-. Gararid, designer of the rifle bearing bear-ing his name, Glenn L Martin, famous aircraft designer, Major General Edmond B. Gregory, Quartermaster General of tho Army, and the four Design Bureaus Bu-reaus of the United States Navy. The Award was accepted for the Navy by Captain Paul P. Blackburn. Black-burn. All checks received by the designers de-signers and the Navy Design Bureaus Bu-reaus were turned over to the Army and Navy Emergency Relief Re-lief Soeietk-s.
