Show Challeneg To Michigan The newspapers carried a story last week, telling of the murder of a State Senator in Michigan. The dead man was a witness in some investigation of alleged criminality and his passing is attributed at-tributed to the work of those who were afraid of his testimony. In the old days of Chicago rack-teers rack-teers it was nothing but a part of a day's work to bump off a couple of people. The gangesters were well organized and they commited many murders without being punished. Recently, however, such killings have been somewhat rare. The Michigan case is a challenge to the forces of good government in that State. Nothing should be left unturned to apprehend and convict the persons guilty of this crime. Things have gotten to a terrible condition in American state when a man can be shot down by thugs interested in shutting his mouth. |
