Show Dail Averett Graduates From School Oi Optometry Dail Averett of Mt. Pleasant graduated Monday from the School of Optometry at Portland, Oregon. In a letter to Dr. and Mrs. E. G. Mills the President of the school Dr. R. B. Clunes said: "I was very sorry to learn this morning of the impossibility of your coming to the graduation ceremonies to be held on the 24th day of February. I had hoped to convey the few followin thouhts in person. "First, I would congratulate both of you for the splendid ideals you have instilled in your son, not to mention, the wise counsel and help he has received so graciously from home. "Dail has set a mark at this institution for all future students to aim at. He has been an all around student taking an active ac-tive part in all school activities both scholastic and social. Dail has had the honor of being the president of the Portland chapter of Omega Delta, national Op-tometric Op-tometric fraternity. Under his leadership, one of the highlights of the social season was held here in Portland a dance on the very famous Battleship, Oregon. Your son has qualified himself him-self in every way to receive his degree, Doctor of Optometry. "Dr.Averett will leave shortly for entrance into the U. S. armed forces." Very truly yours, Dr. R. Braner Clunes, President. |
