Show SPRING CITY ( I By Special Correspondence Mrs. Louise Clark left last week for her home at Santa Monica, California after five weeks' visit with her mother, Mrs. Mena Carlson and other relatives at Spring City and at Mt. Pleasant. Mrs. Royal Allred was hostess Friday evening at a chicken dinner din-ner at her home here to a number num-ber of friends. Charles Puzey is spending a few days visiting his father, Albert Al-bert Puzey and other relatives and friends at Spring City. He is here on a furlough. Mrs. Harold Smith of Pleasant Grove spent the later part of the past week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Allred at Spring City. On Sunday she accompanied accom-panied her husband to their home. Mr. Smith came here for a rlav's visit. Dale Allred of provo spent Sunday with Spring City relatives rela-tives and friends. Mrs. Veene Brown and sons of Salt Lake City were week end guests with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Jensen. Corporal Lamar Barney left Saturday for Tennessee after a furlough to visit relatives here. Miss Ruth Van Cott of Salt Sake City spent Saturday, Sunday Sun-day and Monday here visiting with her sister, Mrs. Doyle Mad-sen Mad-sen and family. Mr. Paul Strate and family of Provo and a number of other people working on Defense plants in the northern part of the state, spent Sunday and Washington's Birthday with their relatives in Spring City. Mrs. Joseph I. Beck is home a-gain a-gain after spending a week visiting visit-ing with her daughter. Mrs. Clifford Clif-ford Stubbs, at Provo. Mr. and Mrs. Barney Hyde of Helper spent Sunday and Monday Mon-day in Spring City visiting with their mother, Mrs. Sarah E. Hyde. Morris Beck of Salt Lake City spent Sunday with his relatives in Spring City. Henry Blain. a member of the local rationing board, celebrated his birthday on Friday, Feb. 19th. at his home in Spring City. Isaac Zabriskie celebrated his birthday anniversary on Sunday 91st Birthday Is Observed Open house was held Monday at the home of Christian Soren-sen Soren-sen in honor of the 91st birthday anniversary of his father, Jens J. Sorensen, the oldest man living in Spring City. The honored gentleman is making his home with his son, Christian. Many Spring City friends were thoughtful of the occasion and called to pay respect to the elderly elder-ly gentleman. Among the out-of-town visitors visi-tors who came were: Mr. and Mrs. James Sorensen of Pocatello, Idaho; Mr. and Mrs. Cloyd Blain, Sunset. Utah; Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Sid-ney Morley and family of Ogden Utah; Mr. and Mrs. Jewel Ras-musssen Ras-musssen and son of Salt Lake City, Utah; Mr. and Mrs. Parley Rasmussen and family of Provo, Utah. There were 65 relatives and friends who came to wish Mr. Sorensen a happy birthday. The mail brought many cards and presents from out of town friends. |
