Show Funeral For Sam Martin Funeral services for Samuel Martin were conducted Sunday at 2:00 p. m. in the Chester ward L D S chapel with Bishop J. Emil Jensen in charge. Prayers were offered by Kenneth Ken-neth Candland and Paul E. Nelson. Nel-son. The speakers were Bishop Morgan Mor-gan Lamb of Moroni, Christian Christensen of Chester and Supt. Joseph Rodney Bagnall of Mt. Pleasant, all of whom spoke words of highest praise of him. A vocal solo, "In The Garden" was sung by Miss Joy Jordan of Mt. Pleasant, with Mrs. Pearl Jorgensen of Salt Lake City as accompanist. A solo, "Lay My Head Beneath The Rose," was sung by Harold Arnoldsen of Moroni, with Mrs. Pearl Jorgensen as accompanist. The Ladies Chorus of Chester rendered two song, "Beautiful Home" and "I'll Go Where You Want Me To Go" with Stahana Eagnall as accompanist. The grave in the Moroni cemetery ceme-tery was dedicated by Milton Arnoldsen. Mr. Martin died suddenly at his home in Chester, Utah on Wednesday, March 21, 1943 at 5:00 p. m. He was born at Chester May 22, 1890, the son of Samuel H. and Mary Ann Farnsworth Martin. Mar-tin. He married Ruby Arnoldsen of Moroni January 8. 1913, who with three sons survive, Lowell S. Martin and Fremont J. Martin of Chester and Reed H. Martin in the U. S. Coast Guard, who has been in the Marine hospital at San Francisco the past four weeks, but was home to attend his father's funeral. He is also survived by one grandchild, his aged father, 89 years old and one sister, Mrs. Sylvia Reynolds of Moroni. |
