Show D. Howard Phillips Dies of Heart Attack Doug'as Howard Phillips, son of Douglas Blood and Clbryatal Jensen Phillips, suffered a fatal heart a. tack -while attending a picnic in Teton Canyon, Idaho, Friday, June 19th. Mrs. Phillips is a toiimer resident of Mt. Pleasant, Pleas-ant, being the daughter of Mrs. H. P. Jensen, of this city. Howard Phillips was iborn. No-v.mber No-v.mber 27, 1916, in Kaytsville, U.alh'. In 1919 he moved with his parents to Teton County, Idaho. After completing high school Ihe attended the Santa Monica Jr. college at Santa Monica, Mon-ica, California. At the time of his death, he wa; in charge of the County Agricultural Ag-ricultural Conservation, Adrnini-stration Adrnini-stration program in Teton county, coun-ty, having left college to accept this position. Ha Uas district commi.tee member of the Teton Peaks Council of tihe Boy Scouts of Airnerica, and1 secretary of the stake board of the Y M QVD I A. Besides his parents he is survived sur-vived by two brothers, Vail J. Phillips and Boyd Phillips; one sister, Virginia Phillips, all of Driggs, Idaho; arid two grandmothers, grand-mothers, Mrs. Annie B. Phillips of Kays-ville and Mrs. H. P. Jensen Jen-sen of Mt. Pleasant. .Funeral services for Howard were 'held Tuesday afternoon in the Teton Stake tabernacle, in Driggs, Idaho. The services were conducted as follows under tihe direction of Bishop- Clarence Murdock: Prelude and postlude organ music .was played by Dorothy Wilkie; opening song, "Sweet Hour of Prayer", by a quartet composed of Mrs. Norma Floyd, Mrs. Elaine Sewell, B. J. Fullmer and Wm. A. Strong; invocation, Bishop J. D. Lauritzen of Victor. Oi her musical numbers were: "One Fleeting Hour" by Mr. and Mrs. Miio Dalley, accompanied j by Mrs. Phoebe Christensen.; solo, so-lo, "In the Gardens" by Richard Egbert, accompanied by Mlar-j'crie Mlar-j'crie O'Brien; duet, 'iResigna-.iorj", 'iResigna-.iorj", Mrs. Evan Floyd and Mrs. W. J. Sewell. A tribute was read by Miss Mary Clhoules and the speakers were Don Clhoules of the Stake M I A! Board; Vernon Strong, Scout executive of the Teton Peaks Council; A. C. Miner of Tetania-; Wm. A. Strong and President Albert Clhoules of Te-i Te-i on Stake; concluding remarks tiy Bishoip MurdoOk; closing song, "Going Home" by the quartet; benediction .was offered Iby Ben E. Call. Pall bearers were friends and office associates of tlhe deceased. Honorary pall bearers Iw'ere members mem-bers of the A. C. A. committee, the county commissioners and the ociunty and city officials. Burial was in the Driggs cemei-tery cemei-tery and the grave was dedicated dedi-cated by E. Max Phillips. |
