Show Public Service Ends For L. Eugene Jordan Word has been received by-relatives by-relatives o L. Eugene Jordan, former resident of Mt. Pleasant, that he passed away Sept. 1. Mr. Jordan was the son of Leonard and Emily Jordan. He attended the Mt. Pleasant schools and was a graduate of' Brgham Young University. He married Irene Beck of this city. They moved to LaGrande, Ore.. in 1901, later they moved to Enterprise, Ore. Mr. Jordan's passing brings to a close a distinguished earner of public service. For a period of 45 years he held offices of county clerk, county iudge. served as president of the Lions club, held offices of Mayor and city recorder from 1924 until 1931. At the time of his df-ath and for the past 15 years he has been associated with Senator C. 1 H. Zurcher in the Jordan-Zurcher Insurance Agency. He was a member of the L. D. S .church. Surviving are his widow; 3 sons, Marion E. of Enterprise: Leonard B. of Grangeville, Ida., Ben R. of Imbler Ore.: two daughters, Mrs. W. J. Noel of Colfax, Wash., and Mrs. R .B. Taylor, Washington, D. C; one brother. D. H. Jordan of Salt Lake City; one sister, Mrs. Fannie Fan-nie Woods of Brigham City, Utah. |
