Election at Spring City Jr. High The school year got into swing at Spring City Junior High with election of officers as the first exciting event. The voting was of great interest, in-terest, and it was educational also, al-so, as it was done in just the same procedure as the regular government election. A Primary Election September 24, and the Run-off Election was held on September 26. The students stu-dents had what was called the White party and the Blue party. In the time from September 2Gth to October 1st each part was out to campaign for itself. Each candidate had the privilege privi-lege of speaking in the assembly and making clear to everyone why he would be good for the position, he was running for. This was a merry time for everyone in the school. There was as much excitement and interest in-terest as you could ever imagint in any Junior High. At last the day for the final voting came and it was all thai any one could have dreamed for On the Blue ticket were, for President, Wallace Allred; For Vice President, Robert Schofield; For Secretary and Treasurer, Blake Allred and Cheer Leaders, Ina Rose Hansen, also Virginia Thompson and Shirley Schofield. The White Party won. The results re-sults being, President, John Baxter; Bax-ter; Vice President, Neva Beck; Secretary and Treasurer, Erlen Hansen; Cheer Leaders, Sherlene ; Allred, Shirley Schofield and Mar Rae Blain. Good luck to those in office. Hope the remainder of our school year can continue on as exciting and eventful as the last few days have been. Reporter Mar Rae Blain. |
