Show Rod and Gun Club' Organized in West Sanpete Bent on sportsmanship and better fishing and hunting facilities facili-ties in West Sanpete, members of the West Sanpete Rod and Gun -lub met last night at Moroni ugh school. Organized approximately five months ago for the purpose of uniting the efforts of sportsmen in the west part of the county the club hopes to enlist members from Moroni, Fountain Green Wales, Freedom and Chester, according ac-cording to Henry C. Heinle of Moroni, temporary president of the organization and proprietor af Henry's Sport shop at Moroni. Other temporary officers of the argamzation are Abe Little, Moroni, Mo-roni, secretary, and the following committee members, also of Moroni: Mo-roni: Neal Blackburn, Newell Curtis and Dick Salisbury. Feature of Thursday evening's meeting was an accress by Lee Kay of Salt Lake City, supervisor of education for the Utah Fish and Game comission. Mr. Kay commended the club for its past efforts in fostering sportsmanship which have included in-cluded the securing of three loads of fish, stocked in streams in the area, and the planting of pheasants, pheas-ants, carried out by representatives representa-tives of the Federal hatchery at Springville. Another meeting at which a permanent organization will be effected, according to Mr. Heinle, will be held next Thursday evening eve-ning at 8:30 p. m. at Moroni city hall. All interested sportsmen in the west part of thee ounty are invited to atend, Mr. Heinle said. Every town in the area will have a representative on the executive committee, he stated. |
