Mr Jav B. Christensen, son o ; Mi and i.Irs. John C. Christensen io'' Fairview has been promoted to the rank of Captain. He 1. now stationed in Europe where he is an Army Chaplain. A grau-i grau-i uate of Utah State Agricultural College, Loan, he entered the service in April, 1944 and was i commissioned in Divinity school at Cambridge, Mass., assigned U overseas i.i September. He has c -ed in England, France, Belgium Bel-gium and Luxembourg. His wire, Mrs. Louise Fowles Christensen, and son, John Jay Christensen reside in Mt. Pleasant. The M. I. A. held their annual Gold and Green Ball last Tuesday Tues-day evening in the Fairview A-musement A-musement Hall, under the direction direc-tion of the M. I. A. officers. The queen of the Ball was Miss Le Nila Young, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Young. Her attendants attend-ants were Miss Collen Jensen and Miss Una Lee Tucker. The little flower girls were Miss Sandra Lynn Cox and Miss Virginia Jensen Jen-sen and Little Briant Day acted as Crown Bearer. A very large crowd attended the dance. The! floor show was under the direction direc-tion of Mr. Duane Swensen. Seaman first class Hugh Bell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alex Bell, is home on a 20-day leave from Seattle, Washington. He has spent the past 14 months in the South Pacific. He will spend part of his leave in California visiting with relatives before reporting re-porting back to Seattle. TSgt. Robert Kirby Bench, son of Mr. and Mrs. John L. Bench, is home on a 15-day furlough visiting visit-ing his parents and friends at Fairview. He has been stationed at Grand Island, Nebraska. Mr. and Mrs. Loren Brady and family, who have spent the past few months living in Salt Lake City have returned to Fairview to make their home again. Mr. Fay Sidwell and Mr. Cleon Rigby of Fairview left Tuesday for Salt Lake City where they will enter the U. S. Service, Mr. and Mrs. Sheldon Mower and baby of Washington visited with relatives and friends in Fiarview last week. Mrs. Lucy Tucker entertained a few relatives last Sunday evening eve-ning in honor of her husband's birthday anniversary. A delicious delici-ous luncheon was served. Bishop and Mrs. Golden Carls-ton Carls-ton and family moved in their beautiful new home this week. Mr. and Mrs. Urban Bench entertained en-tertained a number of their friends at a party at their home last Thursday evening. The time was spent in playing games, etc. Delicious refreshments were a part of the evenings pleasures. The officers and .teachers of the Fairview North ward Primary held a Valentine Dance last Wednesday Wed-nesday night and the officers and teachers of the Fairview South , wa-d Primary also held a party in honor of St. Valentine Day.
