Mrs. Ellis Coombs gave the les-on, "The Mormons as Colonizers in Western United States." Mr. and Mrs. M. Cox sang a duet, "The Dying Califomian." Mrs. R-ed Peterson ga,Vf the history of Mrs. Caroline Peel Simpson. Mrs. Aria Petersen, Captain cf the D. U. P. has chos'n Mrs. Ruth J. Cox and Mrs. Ha R. Jensen as her vice captains. The officers acted as hostesses and re-freshmente re-freshmente wer? served to more than 25 guests. Th next meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Newel Cox on November llrh. The Fairview High school band uncTr the direction1 of Parrel Mad-sn, Mad-sn, went to Manti Friday to plav during the celebration being held there in honor of the laying of the comer stone of the new Court House. Mrs. Vernoa Shank and two small sens visited relatives here the past two weiek". They are returning this werk to thir home at Sallon. Nevada, Ne-vada, where Mr. Shank is employed 'n the High School. Mr. Golden Sanderson was recently re-cently elected . a? leader of the executive ex-ecutive group rf the Pareint-teathers association. This year they are working a n"w plan. A president and an executive group are chosen from each grade. A parent Is also chosen In each group and they expect ex-pect to get more real work, and more Eood for beth the parents, and the teachers and pup'ls, than they have ben able to accomplish heretofore. If everyone will g"t interested they will be able to do a lot of good. Margaret Bailey, who was recently operated upen for appendicitis at the home of Mrs. John Vance, is convalescing nicely and returned to her home in Ephraim thb week. Dr. pnd Mrs. Francis N. Mart'iison of Richfield sp"nt Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. A. U. Miner and Mrs. Mor-tenssn Mor-tenssn spent most of the week visiting vis-iting friends and relatives here. |
