Mr. Black wa? one of th: first whit- children born in this city. He was born on April 18th, 1861, a s'n of James Matiasen Blaick and ; Christire Larsen. He has livrd in : Spriny City all his life. He married 1 Chatin3 J lrasen, a daught'r cf Jens C. and Margaret Anderson Jrnien of Mount Pleasant. She was born December 22. 1862, and they wer.' maried Oc:cb'ir 27, 1880 in Spring City by L-uritz Lars;n, an uncle to : Mr. Black. Mrs. Bl.k worked a a visit'ng Reli-f Society teach'r for many years and she also helped' In preparing bodi's for bural and did "swing of burial clothe?. Mr. Black has been a farmer and cattle reds'r. They are the par nts of fix children. Four are living. Sella Allred, Pres-t'.n, Pres-t'.n, Nrrvada; LeRoy Black, Angus M. Black and Mabel B. Beck of Spring City, two daughters. ' Funeral services .wcire held In the Spring City ward chapel for Caro-lin3 Caro-lin3 Margaret Morten en Peterson, 86 year old widow of Iver Pedorsen, Sunday at 2 p. m. Bishop James F. Ellis conducting the service. Mu-ric Mu-ric was furnished by the ward choir, under the direct'on cf Ernest Terry, Ter-ry, and sang, "Rrist for the Wean' Soul," "I Need Thee Every Hour," and "Lead Me G-ntly Home Father" A ppecial duet, by Ernest Terry and Mrs. Jessie Schofield, accompanied at the piano by Athene Osborne. Prayers were offered by Otto J. Sorensen and Brother Pedersen of Richfield. The speakers were John Ppd-ers'n, Mr. Elzabrtth D. Larsen, Marinus Morteneen, Bishop Henry P. Olsen of Mount Pleasant and Bishop Jame? F. Ellis. A grandson, Jewell Pedersen of Fairvilw read her biotrraphy. Mrs. Pedersen was thre mother of five children, with only two sons surviving. Th-y are, Joseph Peders-n cf Delta, and Parley Par-ley Pedersn of Mount Plea'.ant. in whese home she dind Thursday October 24th. Mrs. Ped'rsen was born in Denmark ard ?t ths age cf 17 .iourd the L.
