Show Arbor Doy, Ma-ch 28th With the promise of an early spring, and with conditions favorable favor-able for another year of beauty and good growing weather, and wi'h a spirit cf maintaining splendor splen-dor and beauty about the home, the yard and the garden, patriots will have a chance, and are urged, to ioin this year in observing Arbor day. which by riroclamation by Governor Blood, has been set for M"nd-y. March 28th. At this time, it is urged that the observance be general, and that the work be centered around planting of trees, shrubs, flowers and lawns. Gove nor Blood in proclaiming the holiday, says: "This spring festival is designed not only to give public expression to that ioyousness which comes as nature dresse herself afresh and her creatures wake frm their winter win-ter sleep. "It has a more practical meaning, mean-ing, in that the holiday is designed to call the atntion of everyone to the opportunity to improve the physical surroundings, especially by ! anting growing things. "At this season nature will bounteously boun-teously assist in beautifying homes and environment, and she makes such outdoor activity attractive and inspiring. So much may be accompanied ac-companied by united effort that it is a pleasure to urge Utah citizens to celebrate this holiday in spirit and by deed." |
