Show Gleaner Girls Treat Mothers at Formal Tea The Gleaner Girls cf the two "Mt. Pleasant wards entertained their mothers at a formal tea Tuesday evening, August 25. The tea was held at sunset in the beautiful flower garden of President Presi-dent and Mrs. H. C. Jacobs. Fifteen Fif-teen small tables were beautifully decorated with bud-vases of yellow and lavendar flowers. The tea table, covered with an equis-ite equis-ite miaderia cloth had a centerpiece of lajvendar petunias in a silver bowl. Silver candelabra held yellow yel-low candles. The tea table was presided over by Miss Margaret Brinton and Miss Virginia Nelson assisted by Misses Carol Reynolds, Ida Nielson, Beth Larsen, Elaine Sorensen, Chesla Seely, Elma Anderson, Louise Barton VaNetta Larsen, Lois Lo-is Peel Florence Nielson andi Sarah Rasmussen. Mrs. Jewel Sorensen was In charge of the decorations. A beautiful picture was presented in the setting of velvety lawns, colorful col-orful flcwers and the girls in their varicolored fcrmial gowns. Miss Margaret Brinton, president of the Gleaners gave the speech ol welcome to the mothers and announced an-nounced the following program: song, Gleaner group; piano solo, Mrs Louise Spencer; song, Misses Eltia Lund, Eva Paulson and) Elma Anderson: violin solo, Briant Jacobs- trio, Misses Esther Madsen, La Zetta Seely and Eva Beck; musical reading, Miss Virginia Nelson; piano pi-ano solo. Miss Genevieve Kimber; solo, Miss Lucille Hansen; violin solo. Miss June Barton. The general committee in charge of arrangements were: Misses Va Netta Larsen. Florence Nielson Lois Peel, Elma Anderson and Louise Barton. Seventy-five ladies attended the tea. |
