Show Five Reasons For Agricultural Cooperation L. J. Taber, Master of thei National Nat-ional Grange, recently put fox-ward fox-ward the followng five reasons why cooperative marketing can do for the farmer what no other mJthod can accomplish, 1. It gives him a voice in the control of his own affairs, increasing in-creasing his sense of i esponsibiUty , his value as a citizen, and his in-depend in-depend nee. 2. It p;rm-ts him to control quality of purchases, and standardize stand-ardize his products. 3. It enable him to securj the type cf merchandising, packaging and di'tribution service that best meets his needs, as well as the needs of the coniuming public. 4. It makes it possible for him to use the law of supply and demand de-mand to better pricas. 5. It permits him to own his marketing machinery, and keep open his avenues of credit, production pro-duction and tales. This is a great stabilizing influence. These are basic virtu's of agricultural agri-cultural cooperation. They show how cooperation In farm production produc-tion and marketing enables farmers farm-ers to achieve sound "farm relief" through their own efforts and abilities. |
