Show Annual Patriotic Ball Is Outstanding Social Event One of the outstanding social events of the week was the annual an-nual patriotic ball given by Battery Bat-tery D., N. G. U. under direction cf Captain Chesley P. Seely, Wednesday Wed-nesday evening in Armory Hall. Decorations were all in the national na-tional colors: the battery boys, 37 in number, and their officers were all in uniform and at 10 a. m. presented a very unique demonstration demon-stration of military drills including the flag ceremony. An added feature was the lineup line-up of officers of the first National Guard in this city in 1894, including includ-ing Captain Thomas Braby, Mayor W. P. Winters, William Hansen, L. P. Nelson and J. C. Barton; Spanish Span-ish American war veterans. Ed. Johnston and T. C. Candland; World war veterans, S. M. Erick-sen, Erick-sen, Dr. A. L. Peterson, J. Faireld Laren. L. Croft Larsen. Short addresses were made by Captain Braby and Mayor Winters. Win-ters. The Guard's annual inspection will be held Thursday evening, March 2. |
