Show County Farm News Soil Conservation Program Soil conservation meetings have been held for the farmers in Sanpete San-pete county by the County Agri-cuHura! Agri-cuHura! Agent and committee members fcr the purpose of explaining ex-plaining the new program to all of these who wish to cooperate in 193G. Meetings have been held at Mil-burn. Mil-burn. Fairview, Spring City, Mount Pli-asant. Chester, Fountain Green, Morcni, Axtell, Gunnison, and Fayette Fay-ette Other meetings will be held in the rest of the tewns during the next few days. In practically every case the farmers have taken kindly to the prrt:i.m and seem willing to cooperate. co-operate. Rodent Campaign A pocket gopher campaign has been carried on in Sanpete county during the week with V. L. Johnson, John-son, of the U. S. Biological Survey in charge, assisted by Harold Hurst and the County Agricultural Agent. Within the next two weeks an extensive ground squirrel campaign will be carried on in Sanpete county. This has been somewhat delayed due to the fact that grain has not been available and bad weather has prevented the best work being done. Foods Miss Elna Miller, Foods Specialist Spec-ialist from the Utah State Agricultural Agri-cultural College Extension Service, is holding meetings in Sanpete county cn foods work. Meetings are being held in Spring City, Ephraim, Fairview, Mt. Pleasant. Pleas-ant. Moroni, and Fountain Green. Mi?s Miller is taking up work on the fam ly food budget and other feed and health problems which she will bring to your attention in these demonstration meetings. |
