Show Mt. Pleasant Baseball Team Plays 10 to 10 Tie With C C C Boys Mt. Pleasant's baseball nine came ! from behind Sunday afternoon to tie a team from the Gooseberry C CC Camp. 10 to 10. Only seven innings in-nings were played, in order that the visitors might return to their camp at a scheduled time. The CCC. boys started out with a bang, piling up five runs in th9 first canto. In the! same inning, Wheelock Freston for the locals stole home to make Mt. Pleasant's tflrst tally. As the game proceeded, Wesely Marx on the mound for Mount Pleasant began to tighten up, and the locals' score started climbing. In the last of the sixth, Mount Pleasant got three men on bases only to lose the bat. Then Marx shut the Gooseberries out, the first half of the seventh ending 10-8 in the visitors' favor. Two runs in the second half of the inning evened up the count. A tie-off game will be played in the city park this Sunday afternoon between the same teams. |
