Show Voters, Know Your Man. CITY JUDGE JEPPSON IS IN THE CONTEST FOR THIRD DISTRICT COURT First Candidate To Date Filed for Third District Judicial Nomination Judge Joseph G. Jeppson filed his affidavit for his candidacy for the Democratic nomination for the Third District Court in the 1944 elections. Mr. Jeppson was appointed City Judge by the City Commission to serve the balance of the term of B. P. Lever-ich. Lever-ich. In January, 1941, his apponitment expired at noon. He was trying a case at the time and recessed Court until he could go down and be sworn in by virtue of his election in the 1940 general elections. Since that time, he has served in all four of the City Court divisions. He practiced law in Salt Lake City for ten years. Judge Jeppson is a native of Utah. He obtained his Bachelor's Degree at the University of Utah in 1928, and his LLB Degree in 1930. At the University he completed in three years a four year course with honors. He was awarded the scholarship key of Phi Kappa Phi. He was student body treasurer and was awarded the University Bee Hive Medal for a maximum maxi-mum number of activities. He represented the University of Utah in thirty-six intercollegiate debates and the Rocky Mountain Oratorical Contest. He served on the University Apportionment Board, the Athletic Council and the Central Union Building Committee. Judge Jeppson at the age of seventeen went to the California Mission for the L. D. S. Church. While there he served as Mission Superintendent of one hundred and nineteen nine-teen Sunday Schools and Young Men's M.I.A. organizations. He is now a member of the Thirty-third Ward Bishopric. He is a member of the Young Democratic Club of Utah, the Sagebrush Club and the Jackson Democratic League. He has ben active in district and ward positions. Judge Jeppson married Zorah H. Home. They have two children and reside at 460 S. 12th East. |
