I The number of women employed in the nondurabl goods industries increased during our first year of war by I 10,000 largely in ammunition ammun-ition aud explosive plants while the nnmber of men decreased by 34,000. (Above paragraph was set up by our 7 year old grand daughter Carolyn Coles, her first effort at the cases ) Our good friend Wm "Bill'" King not the .senator but just as good, was in and, as always, proved his religion by his works. He says he is still the watchman on both sides of the tower of Mt. Zion. In his work he is closely associa ed wilh Commissioner Tedesco and he says he is one of the best commissioners com-missioners the city has had. Mr King tend s rictly to the duties of his responsible position and be tends to it abont as well as one human can. None better Neighbor George E. Man waring was in and if ever a man I proves his faith by his works ! he does. He carries five subscriptions sub-scriptions and he says that often oft-en a singl issue of the paper is ' worth the total oost of these five. He is working in the lumber lum-ber business and doing very well. One of his sons, Geo. O. is director of personell at the Anaconda Copper Co., Montana. Mon-tana. Another son, Paul, is a Captain in the 40th Field Artillery Ar-tillery at Camp Forest, Tenn., and is a member of the Court Martial Board, as Umpire in the blue army . Mrs. Vesta P. Crawford, one of Utah's outstanding poets, is one of our esteemed Friends and Neighbors who, besides reading the pnper, always does her full duty by it. To help the schools in teacher shortage she is teaching in one of the county high schools. After thres recent operations Neighbor J V Crone is about restored to his usual health He was in the other day with a good word and a good deed. Eriend George Marchant made sure of seening us before the old year died out. He hes a splendid position with the county road department and is as honest and capable in his work as a man can be a man all men can depend on. Mrs D. H. Lochrie comes in smiling and happy at least once a year to show that she reads and appreciates the paper. And we appreciate her coming as a Neighbor and Frieud. , H L. Lund pushed semething unde the door hen we were not looking and it was appreciated. appre-ciated. He is one of the faith ful employes of the county road department. Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Lund are rejoicing over the arrival of their first piandchild, a girl born to Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Lund. We extend our sincerest appreciation ap-preciation to our good Neighbor, Neigh-bor, Mrs. Howard Kimber for her offerings and trust that the New Year will fill her heart and home with joy, peace and prosperity. Alice Lund, professional nurse daughter of Mrs. Ziua Lund of i Mt. Pleasant, luis put her trust in wedded bliss with a fine young man of Idaho. Mrs. L. M. Million, a gifted and kindly Friend and Neighbor, Neigh-bor, sent in her remembrances and is well pleased with the paper. She has written much poetry and had some published Friend Mrs. Maud Fulmer is back from an extended trip to the East. |
