Show How Beautiful Is Men's Faith, But They Do Not Know the Truth It is inded beatutiful to see the sublime faith leading 'man have in victory for the Allied cause, and just as beautiful to note their assurance that they will set up a New Order after the war. Taking a long view of things their faith is justified. And let us assure them that the New Ordir they are talking about, will be set up in time but it will not be of their making. Someone else, to whom they do not like to listen, is to set up that Order. Most of those engaged in the present conflict have been set apart by Destiny as the wreckers. Their work is not to build the New, but to wreck the Old order. The scriprures are most plain and forceful on the collapse of the present economic system, and nil the signs point in that direction. Witness the wreck of small business and the wrecking has but begun and there are yet oceans of calamity, disaster and destruction to wade through. The truth is "our vaunted civilization has run amuck," and even Herculean efforts cannot save it. "The contributions contribut-ions of science have lifted men out of the mire of the slough of despond are being used to drive them into the darkness of an abyss and, if successful will destroy the advantages gained in a thousand years of progress toward freedom and liberty." Dark indeed are the days ahead, and before the wrecking is finished men will think the end of the world has come. But not so All the evils of the present are but birth pangs of a millenium of peace, security and happiness The money speDt for every hour of Nazi occupation of France would support 500 French families of three people for a year. If each of the 31 million U. S. families bought one less can of canned goods per week, the steel saved would meet steel requirements of 5,000 medium tanks, there would be tin for 360,000 75mm, howitzers, rubber for 2,000 jeeps. The total volume of the ; new all-purpose ration books would fill 128 freight car |
