To help preserve the color of beets and red cabbage when cooking, cook-ing, use a tablespoon of vinegar to each quart -of wter. Violent boiling destroys most vitamins. Control heat carefully while boiling food. Pineapple and peach juices mixed in ginger ale make a delicious de-licious punch.
