Show SHERIFF'S PROCLAMATION To Foreign Born Residents , I, George Collingham, sheriff of Carbon county, deem It wlso in the present crisis, In this formnl proclamation to nssure all residents of foreign birth that in as much as the United States became be-came actively Involved In the great European war, no citizen of any foreign power, resilient in Carbon county, need fear any in-vasion in-vasion of his personal or property rights so long as ho goes peae-nbly peae-nbly about his business and conducts himself in n lawablding mnn-ner. mnn-ner. , The United States has never, In any war, confiscated the property prop-erty of any foreign resident unless by his own hostile acts he made it necessary I take this formal means of declaring to nil foreign born residents resi-dents that they will be protected in the ownership of their prop-crty prop-crty nnd money nnd that they will be free from personal molcsta-tion, molcsta-tion, so long as they obey the laws. I urgently request that nil our people refrain from public discussion dis-cussion of questions involved in the present crisis and maintain a calm nnd considerate attitude toward all without regard to nationality. na-tionality.
